Page 6, Watt Craven Highlights, Farm Life School Alumni—May 9 On Friday night, May 9th at 7:00 p.m.for the 66th consecutive year former classmates will gather for the Farm Life School Alumni Banquet and Dance. The banquet will be in the Vanceboro-Farm Life School Cafeteria. Those who graduated from Farm Life High School or attended Farm Life and graduated from another school are invited and may bring a guest with them. The spouse of a deceased jLlumnus is invited and may bring a guest with them. Admission to the Banquet is $4.00 per person. The dance will be in the school gym beginning at 9:00 P.M. Music for the dance will be furnished by "The Sands" from Morehead City. The dance committee is making plans so that everyone can enjoy being at the dance. Anyone may go to the dance, whether you ever attended Farm Life School or not. May 1,1986 Admission is $4.00 per person, reunion for the graduating This Will be the 50th year class of 1936. Pate, Clerk of Superior Court . Under the leadership of Mrs. Pate, during her nineteen years as Clerk, our office has experienced many changes. The staff has increased from five to twenty-four employees. In addition to supervising all record keeping procedures, receiving and disbursing child support payments, receiving and investing money for minors and Incompetents; the Clerk is also ex-officio Judge of the Probate Court and holds may judicial hearings. The Clerk must be knowledgeable of the laws of North Carolina and keep up with new laws passed by the General Assembly which effect the Clerk’s Office. Mrs. Pat ehas been commended, by both the State Auditor and the Administrative Office of the Courts, for the efficient and accurate manner in which she carries out the many duties and responsibilities of Clerk. There was no graduating class in 1946. This was the year High School changed from 3 to 4 years. The executive committee met at President Jerry Phillips home on April 17. Each committee reported as to-tlw plans for the banquet and dance. Gus Kite, Food Chairman has secured Parkers from Greenville to cater the Dinner. Joe and Linda Thomas have a very enjoyable program planned. "I oppose cuts in the defense budget, and any attempt to split us from our allies or to deny aid to freedom fighters anywhere." THE SDI IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY ECONOMY 'I endorse LONG TERM, LOW INTEREST CREDITS for agricultural and industrial investment infrastructure, and capital goods export to restart production, curb inflation, and relieve the backbone of our economy from its oppressive burden of debt. I endorse; * LOWER TAX RATES for production; * 90% of a Parity Price for farmers FAMILY I support a STRONG NUCLEAR FAMILY and the strengthening of TRADITIONAL MORAL VALUES. DRUGS "I endorse a TOTAL WAR ON DRUGS." Gun Control I will defend the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. Citizens should be trained in their proper use, but I will oppose any attempt to deny that right. , Education I support a sound CLASSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM and increased funding for a quality education, including LOW INTEREST STUDENT LOAN PROGRAMS (with STRICT repayment requirements). Elderly I want to ensure the fullest commitment to the sanctity of life and the right to life. I endorse; increased funding for medical care programs; * stable Social Security benefits.
