The Baccalaureate sermon will he given by the Rev. Robert L. Cran dall, Charlotte, at 11:00 Sunday morning. Rector of Saint Peter’s Church, Charlotte, Mr. Crandall will speak on “Exporting Spiritual Cap ital.” An organ recital and an alumnae service will be held at 5 :00 at the school chapel, succeeded by step sing ing of each of the classes at 6 :30. The first of the graduation exer cises will start in the auditorium at 10:30 Monday morning, with Dr. Prancis R. B. Godolphin, Dean of the College, Princeton University, as guest speaker. * * * The Niles and Cooper medals will be awarded to the students with the highest average in the college and high school departments by Dr. Stone, who will also announce honor roll and honorable mention students for the year. Later, high school and business diplomas and art, expres sion, piano, and organ certificates will be presented. In the chapel seniors will be given diplomas by the Rt. Rev. Edwin Penick, retired bishop of the East ern Diocese of North Carolina. Students and faculty will then line In a city in Llyria, and the seacoast near it, Shakespeare’s romantic comedy. Twelfth Night, yfiW be brought to life in its full glory tonight at 8 :15 on the campus outside the auditorium. Directed by MissTlorence C. Davis, the production is the annual recital of the dramatic department. Outstanding in the cast of the play are Elizabeth Myatt, Goldsboro, who will play Orsino, Duke of Illyria; Violet LaRue, Raleigh, Olivia, a lady of fortune; Susan Jenkins, Goldsboro, Malvolio, steward to Olivia- and Virginia Smith, Ridley Park, Pa., Viola. ’ Sebastian, Viola’s brother, will be NEW INVEN'nON? When one girl broke her alarm clock, she was afraid to take an afternoon nap for fear she would n’t wake up in time for supper. Seeing no one on her hall who could wake her at the proper time, she arranged with a boy at State to telephone her at five o’clock. Her reason -was simple. When someone came to call her to the phone, she would be waked up. HOSE-RUNNING Do your stockings run when you walk? Shipwrecked on the coast of Illy ria and presuming her twin brother drowned, Viola poses as a page for the I)uke, Orsino, with whom she falls in love. .Ilie .Duke, however, desperately loves _ Olivia, who is in mourning mid will have nothing to do with him. Viola serves as the interpreter of the Duke’s love for Olivia and soon finds herself in volved in the intrigues of Olivia’s relations and servants. To crown all events, Olivia falls in love with Viola, much to the page’s discom fort. Matters become more complicated as Sebastian, Viola’s twin brother’ comes to town, and is mistaken for her. After much confusion, trials Pi^uMtion, the plot unravels with V lola and Sebastian discovered as twins. Orsino realizes he is really in love with Viola and the happy couple walk gaily off with the al ready married Olivia and Sebastian. ^ Twelfth Night is directed by Miss Florence C. Davis, assisted by Vir ginia Bonnett, Miami, Fla. Miss Davis, Dean of Girls, for many years has cast and directed all plays given by the students, several productions of which ha\-e won first place at the Chapel Hill Dramatic Festival. Betsy Blunden, Charleston, W. Va., and Nancy Cumming, Augusta, Ga., are the sound engineers. Joan Hassler, Thomasville, is stage manager. In charge of set tings are Gene Rose, Henderson; Anne Harmon, McBee, S. C.; Mar tha Hinkle, Winston-Salem’; and Margaret Anne Houck, Roanoke Va. ’ The property committee is Mar garet Anderson, Cheraw, S. C.- Jacqueline Burke, Baltimore, Md ’ Pat Taylor, Columbia, S. C.; and Beth Toy, New Brunswick, N. J Aurelia Fulton, Walnut Cove, and Dot Leak, Wadesboro, are in charge of costumes. (See P, 6, Col. 1)
