Despite cloudy skies, The Ole Mis
sissippi, colorful May Day pageant,
'ras presented Saturday, May 2,
1953, at four o’clock. The perform
ance had been called off at two

give the pageant. Saint Mary’s girls

In Music Festival
On Sunday, May 3, Saint Mary’s

Patricia Flowers
Presents Recital
Patricia Flowers, soprano, j>re-
sented her certificate recital in the
school auditorium on Thursday
night, April 30, at 8:30; assisted by
Nancy Jones at the piano. Pat is a
student of iliss Geraldine Cate and
was accompanied by Mrs. L. S. Min
ton.
Pat’s numbers included English,
German, and French songs. “Dell’
Antro Afagico” by Cavalli, “Laseiatc
Ali Araire” by Alontenude, “Ich
Liebe Dich” by Beethoven, “Plaisir
d’amour” by Alartini, and “Faites-
lui Ale Aveux” by Gounod were
among her selections. She concluded
her program with several English

Miss Haig's Pupils
In Assembly Program
Aliss Alary Ruth Ilaig presented
some of her students in a recital in
assembly on xVpril 30. Carol AATl-
liams, a special student, played Im-
ptromphi in A Flat by Schubert, and
Glen AA^arren, a special student,
played the first movement of Sonata
in C Minor, Op. W, No. ], by
Beethoven.
Other Saint Alary’s students par
ticipating in the recital were Nancy
Eversman, Franees Stubinger, and
Leslie Hall.

Inducts New Members
Group Taps Emory, Jordan,
Huffman, Michal, Shaner
Order of the Circle inducted five
new members in an impressive mid
night ceremony AVednesday night,
Ajiril 29. Four juniors, Irene
Emory, Alary Jordan, Alary Alichal,
and Connie Shaner, and one senior,
Libby Huffman, were tapped into the
secret honor society.
The Circle members formed a cir
cle around the president, Paula
AA^hitaker. Each new member was
brought into the circle to light her
candle from the torch held by the
president. After everyone had lit
her candle, the ceremony ended with
a procession around cami)us.
Irene, of AVilmington, is editor of
the BELLES, a member of the
YAA''Cx_V, Stage Coach staff, and Hall
C/Ouncil for next year. She is a Mu.
Alary Jordan, of Fayetteville, is a
