This year Liz is a member of the Granddaughters club. Julie plays on the sigma-mu team and made an all-star in speedball. She is also a member of the Drama club and played a lead role in “Harvey”. Miriam, "Little Match Girl" Orchesis Presents Christmas Program The Christmas performance of the Orchesis at St. Mary’s was presented on the night of Decem ber 11 in the auditorium. The story of “The Little Match Girl” was interpreted through ballet in volving members of Orchesis. 'ITie girls were directed by Mrs. Hailey, ballet instructor; the choreography was done by the girls themselves. Heautiful danc ing and expressive interpretation made a beautiful and unforget table performance. The Orchesis members ])ortray- el the following parts in the story: Susan Lutz, the Little Match Girl; Debbie Horton, the Grandmother; Gayle Cantrell, the Candy Cane; Susan Summers, the Russian Gyps.v; Julia Harfield, Raggedy Ann; Alison Davis, the Hallet Doll; Carolyn Coughenonr, from Williamston, was a member of Maj- Court last year. She has also participated in the Y. I). C. Charlotte is from Vero Beach, Florida. She has participated in S. M. J. C’. pla.vs and the Y.W.C.A. Melanie Beall, Lenoir, was elect ed the freshman May Court rep resentative. Melanie works on the Stagecoach. Mr. Jamie King, the junior class advisor, is new on the faculty at St. Mary s this .vear. He teaches chemistry. He received his edu cation at Cornell, N. C. State, and Harvard. Mr. King has taught at s^everal places, including N. ('. State, Oxford, X. (‘., and Newton Massachusetts.
