TWIN CITY HAPPENINGS Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Bounds spent several days last week in Graham and Durham. Mrs. May Grizzard returned last Friday from a visit to relatives in Washington, D. C. Mr. Eugene Cannon left Tuesday for Davidson college. j Misses Inez and Thelma Patterson left Tuesday for Raleigh where they will be students at Meredith college this year. Mrs. R. H. Gay who has been vis iting relatives here has returned to her home in Raleigh. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Clarnce Topping will regret to know they have moved to West Point, Va., where they will make their home. Messrs Robert Myrick and Allen Zollicoffer spent Tuesday in Raleigh. Mrs. Jimmie Long and Mrs. Corne lius Cooper of Rocky Mount, spent the week-end with their neice and cousin, Mrs. Geneva Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lewis and son. Murphy and Mrs. Alice Jones spent the week-end near Aurelian Springs ptteadinf union meeting. Miss Katherine Jackson and Mrs. Ted Speight have recently returned from a trip through the Valley of Vir ginia: Miss Dean of Oxford was a visitor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Dean last week. Miss Alma Vaughan left Tuesday for Raleigh where she will be a stu dent at Meredith college. Master Graham Dean has returned Prom a visjt to relatives in Oxford. Mrs .George Hayes and George III, spent several days recently at Palm er Springs, Va. Misses Lillian Bell and Sara Eliza beth Jenkins left Tuesday for Mere dith college, Raleigh. The Contract Bridge Club met or last Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Claude Edgerton. Three tables for players were placed in the living room where many flowers .were effectively used. High score for the afternoon was made by Mrs. Frank Nash who was given a bottle of perfume. A salad course was served to the fol lowing: Mesdames W. S. Dean. Frank Kemp, Pendleton Grizzard, Octavius Griffin, David Traynham, Frank Wil liams, P. E. Ransom, Clarence Grim mer, George Hayes, Cooper Grzizard, Frank Nash and Miss Dean. Mrs. J .W. Ross entertained the Monday night Bridge Club at her home on Hamilton Street September Bth. Places for playing were found by attractive tallies. When the scores were counted Mrs. Frank Haw ley was found to hold high score and was presented a string of beads. A salad course was served at conclusion of the game. Those playing were, Mesdames Frank Hawley, Cooper Grizzard, Howard Pruden, Hugh Camp, Julian Allsbrook, David Trayn ham, Allen Zollicoffer, Carroll Wil son, Misses Ruth Transou, Margaret Clark, Martha Craddock and Hart Sheridan. Friday afternoon Mrs. Job Taylo/ j was hostess to the Friday Bridge club. Six tables for players were placed in La Chateau and places for playing were found by tallies. The high score club prize was won by Mrs. Pendle ton Grizzard, a Maderia card table cover and high score for visitors was won by Mrs. Fred Bounds of Weldon, a bottle of perfume.
