Do you know what a “dunker is?” Well, a dunker is one who dips (or rather, “dunks”) his toast, doughnut, cake or other for eign matter in his coffee to enhance the flavor. Dunking is one of our oldest American cus toms, and although it came near causing a cer tain governor of one of the largest Southern states to become socially ostracised recently, it is still considered to be very good form—and we have heard, is indulged in by certain prominent members of the F. F. V. We always like to see a patron “dunking” his cake at our restaurant— if that is the way he enjoys it most, for we want you to feel at home at the Central. . . .most people do!
