Next Week At The Imperial \ Lionel Atwill As A Wax Sculptor Here we have Lion Atwill, as Ivan Igor, the famous modeler in wax, moulding a museum piece of uncanny realism in “The Mystery of the Wax Museum,” which comes to the Imperial next Monday-Tues day. The picture is all in technicolor. IMPERIAL PROGRAM With “The Mystery of the Wax Museum,” new technicolor film offering Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray and Frank McHugh, for the Mon day and Tuesday offering at the Imperial, the uptown house starts another week of interesting cinema offerings. Wednesday-Thursday Lee Tracy and Constance Cummings are of fered in “Washington Merry-Go Round,” a picture that “dares to tell the truth about the invisible powers that handicap the Presi dent and hamstrings Congress.” Friday only, of next week, Bar bara Stanwyck will be seen in her latest production, “Ladies They Talk ‘About,” while Saturday, Tim McCoy is offered in “The Western Code.” ENTERTAINS FRIENDS Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Newsome were hostesses with bridge last Thursday evening. George Washington colors and favors were effectively used. The high score prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Martin. Mrs. B. D. Johnson won ladies low prize and Ivey Mohorn won low for gentle men. A sweet course was served. Those invited were: Misses Edna Ingram, Virgie Barnes, Ethel Faucett, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McDonald was honor guest at a surprise party given by his wife and children Saturday night, February 18th, at his home on Monroe Street, the occasion being his sixty-second birthday. Usual Run Of Cases In Recorder’s Court For Past Two Weeks Altho last week’s Recorder’s Court news was received too late for publication, there was little to distinguish it from the ordinary week. Last week’s session netted nine cases, two each of careless and reckless driving, one of which was charged wih carrying concealed weapon also, and one each of as sault, liquor, assault with dead'y weapon, seduction and affray. This week saw another nine cases disposed of by Ju ige C. R. Daniel and they numbered three each on liquor and larc ny charges, with one each of speeding, abandon ment and assault. Hank Daniel and George Gilliam, who were tried on liquor charges, pleaded not guilty and were found not guilty. James Taylor, charged with lar ceny, pleaded guilty and was sen tenced to four months in jail to be assigned to work the roads. P. C. Evans and Emmit Ryals were brought before the Judge on liquor charges. Ryals pleaded guilty, but Evans pleaded not guilty. Both were found guilty and sentenced to six months in jail to be asssigned to word the roads. Capias to issue as to Ryals March 1st on payment of $65.00 and costs. Ed. Perkins, charged with lar ceny, pleaded not guilty. He was found guilty, however, and sen tenced to three months in jail to be assigned to work the roads. F. J. Capell, charged with speed FREE! R. C. SMITHS RADIO SHOP judgment was continued on pay ment of costs. The case of Byrdia Medlin, charged with abandonment, was continued. The case of Robert Faucett, charged with larceny, was con tinued. Jake Perkins, Ora Perkins, Eliza Perkins and Ida Higgs, who were tried on liquor charges, all pleaded not quilty. Each was found guilty, however, and Jake Perkins was sentenced to six months in jail to be assigned to work the roads. Ora and Eliza Perkins and Ida Higgs were sentenced to six months in jail, but sentence was suspended on good behavior. J. E. Pearce, charged with as sault, pleaded guilty.
