State Agog Over Tues. Game Here There is not much left for us to tell about that game of games which will be played in Roanoke Rapids next Tuesday as Carolina and Wake Forest meet here in a regular Conference game which may decide this year’s race. From now on the daily news papers of North Carolina and Vir ginia and the radio stations in those two States will take over and carry on from the groundwork we have laid. Tune in on WPTF at 6:30 Mon day evening when thru the courtesy of Graham Poyner, station pro gram director, J. B. Clark, sports reporter, and the BC Remedy Co. the sponsors, the entire BC pro gram will be turned over to Roa noke Rapids with Irvin Dickens J and George Nethercutt as stars on , the program. Our thanks also to radio sta tions WRVA of Richmond, WTAR of NorfolK and WEED of Rocky Mount for the splendid reports on the game they are now giving. Further thanks to the sports edi tors of the Raleigh News & Ob server, the Greensboro Daily News, and the dailies of Richmond and Norfolk for the spreads they will give us this weekend. And to the weekly newspapers of this section of the State for the space they have given. Doctors Graham and Kitchin, the Presidents of the two schools, have been invited to come to Roanoke Rapids on Tuesday and it is hoped tonight that both will arrange to accept. There will be plenty of room in Simmons Park for all who come to Roanoke Rapids. Advance sale of tickets does not show that there is a sell-out, as erroneously report ed. All that talk is just what folks are hoping will happen and everybody who comes can see the game. Newspaper sports writers from several city dailies will be here to cover the game and a special press box will be arranged in front of the new stands for them and official newspaper photographers. Ted Speight will announce the game over the loud speakers and introduce visiting celebrities. The opening ceremony at 4 p.m. will be the raising of the American Flag by the Boy Socuts as the bands play The Star Spangled Ban ner. Jay Saunders and his Rose mary Concert Band will play for Wake Forest College and the R. R. High School Band will play for the University of North Carolina. Local Alumni of the two schools will eat with the visiting teams at a joint supper at the basement of the First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Umpires for the game will be brought here by the two teams, a greed upon by the two coaches. A small gift of appreciation will be given to Dickens and Nethercutt during the 7th inning stretch. This game holds the spotlight because of the fact that one town has produced two captains in the same year. It may also hold the spotlight if both teams continue this week their present records. Both may come to Roanoke Rapids undefeated. WAKE FOREST VS. CAROLINA Roanoke Pharmacy W. P. Taylor, Mgr. Dial R-547-1 Rosemary Drug Co. A. N. Martin, Mgr.
