WHEN LIFE IS DONE
When life is done I know there is
one who’ll always grieve for me,
When life is done there’s one in
dreams she’ll see.
She is a little lady with hair that’s
silvery white;
She is so kind and gentle and prays
for me each night.
I long to see her smiling face, I
crave her tender care,
I know she is always watching my
footsteps everywhere.
She is my guiding angel, but now
she is all alone.
Some day I hope to meet her when
life on earth is done.
I hope to be a little turtle dove, I’ll
grow big wings; I’ll do big things
Just like my mother’s love and fly
across land and sea.
I’ll swing my wings above the stars
and meet my mother there.
