J. KJMlGH'l ^ii&l ) i-t-Ain, County Agent Over 400 persons observed the Halifax and Warren Counties 10th annual 4-H Club Family Rally at Faulcon’s Pond near Littleton July 31st. Team demonstration, con tests, talks, recreational activities, and group singing were featured on the program. Tne 4-H demonstration on the “Proauction of Cheap Milk” by the Mary's Chapel tteam, Clarence Harris and Walter Clark was presentetd publicly for the seventh time. The crowd applauded at the methods the team used in stress ing the seven points on the sub ject. 1 The boys will make their ; decisive appearance in a, State 4-H Club Contest at the Short Course at A. and T. College, G’-eensboro, August 28th. “Meth ods of Getting Milk Into The Deits” was demonstarted by Juan mauein Bolling and Ruth Hill of Inborden 4-H team. Interesting talks were heard at the meeting. Negro District Agent Otis Buffaloe of A. and T. Col lege, Greensboro, emphasized the Parent’s Part in 4-H Club Work. Four-H Club Specialist W. C. Cooper also of Greensboro outlined the fall activities of 4-H Club Work and praised the cooperative spirit ot the two counties. Robert Jones of Warren County discuss ed “What 4-H Club Work Has Done to His Home.” The parents’ competitive activi ties consisted of baby contest for men, husband calling and cracker eating contests for women. Landis Harris of Warren County won the first place in retracing him self back 50 years in drinking milk from a nibbled bottle; Plummer Hardy of Halifax Coun ty was second and William Mason of Warren County, third. In the cracker eating contest, Mrs. Richardson of Warren County won first place, Miss Mildred Hed gepeth of Halifax County ranked second and Miss Effie Whitaker of Halifax, third. Mrs. Sallie Hed gepeth of Halifax County was judged the best husband calling contestant. Mrs. Davis of Warren County, second and Mrs. Ada Williams of Halifax County, third. Flsning was a favorite sport for many and C. R. Green, Agent of Veteran Bureau of Warrenton, reported the largest catch. Swim ming and boat riding were enjoyed by the 4-H Club members. In the general assembly, the clubs expressed themselves by singing the New 4-H Spirit, Jt isn’t Trouble and the 4-H Club Round. The annual 4-H Club Fam ily Rally Day is sponsored by Ne gro Extension Agents D. J. Knight and Miss R. V. Whitworth of Hali fax County; C. S. Wynn and Mrs. Anna Branche of Warren County with 4-H leaders and par ents cooperating. D. J.
