September 23, 1949 ‘^Blue Shorts^^ By Betty McCraw Time lias come ’round again to let you in on the feminine side of sports . . . there are no "kicks” coming these days because the weather is fine and those chilly, windy days are a thing of the past. (Those short, blue, gym suits bring many whistles from the wind around the corner of the girls’ gym.) O Not needing any introduction at all are the newly elected officers, for all of these girls are outstand ing in the girls program. Won’t keep you in suspense any longer— the newly elected president is Car ole Williams, with Barbara Parker as vice-president. Filling the offices of secretary and treasurer is Janice Richmond, while Ann Allred is serv ing as points chairman. Many con gratulations to all of you and wish you a wonderful copiing year. Good luck again, gals. O There are quite a few sophomores who are taking physical education this year and are also going out for all after-school sports. From Aycock Junior High School comes Elva Slate and Cam Hunt. They are both fine "sportsters” who played basketball, softball, and soccer at- Aycock, and they are going out for all sports here at Senior High School, From Bindley comes Harriet Vaughn, who played soccer, softball, and basketball, and will enter those same sports here. Prom Central hails Kenan Neese, who also played the three top si>orts, basketball, softball, and soccer. She will go out for all sports here at Senior High School.
