The staff members included Betty Jane Davis, Nancy Beeson, Mose Kiser, Dottie Dillard, Martha Jor dan, Pat Gregg, Betty Jane Up church, and Sylvia Phillips. Mr. Fleming, sales representative for the Lassiter Printing Company, gave a luncheon for the visitors at the Ming Tree Restaurant. Proof copies of the Whirligig served as place mats. At each person’s place was a small notebook with his name engraved upon it, and a metal slug to stamp his name on papers. After lunch the group visited the Lassiter Printing Company and was shown through the different departments by their gracious host, Mr. Fleming. Here they saw the last sheets of the Whirligig being printed. Mr. Fleming gave them permission to take as many of the discarded sheets of pictures as they wished. The pages must be sent to another company to be bound and covered. Mr. Fleming has promised to have the year- books here, ready for deliverv Thursday, May 22. ^ Besides the printing of the year books the group also saw litho graphing,, cellophane logs, being printed and made, and the cutting of bands and seals. No matter where the tour led the staff members always came back to the big bins where the discarded proof copies were placed A tired but.happy group, with their arms full, left Charlotte at 3:30 P.M. and arrived home about 6:30 P.M.
