Employees Join
Crusade For Freedom
The Crusade For Freedom cam
paign was launched last Labor
Day and ran through October 16.
It was organized to “enlist millions
of Americans in the job of step
ping up our world propaganda
‘campaign of truth’ to counter the
false propaganda of Communism.”
Freedom Scrolls were signed
throughout the United States and
newspaper advertisements were
published, endorsed by such per
sons as Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt,
General Eisenhower and Cardinal
Spellman.
Friday, October 27, Freedom
Scrolls were available in all the
departments at Caromount and
Wilson so that each employee
Would have the opportunity to
sign one and to make a donation
of love for Americanism to aid in
combatting Communism. The em
ployees received the Scrolls with
enthusiasm; they signed their
names and made donations to fur
ther the Crusade for Freedom.
When General Dwight D. Eisen
hower opened the Crusade for
Freedom on a radio broadcast, he
Said, “This is a campaign spon
sored by private American citizens
to fight the big lie with the big
truth. We need powerful radio
stations abroad, operated without
Governorment restrictions, to tell
m strong and honest language
‘ibout the decency and essential
fairness of democracy.”

*^11 this Day of Thanksgiving to
"^ffer our thanks for all the good
things we enjoy and the freedom
'vhich is ours in this wonderful
Country we live in. May we ever
Continue to enjoy our American
^ay of life.
Think of all the blessings in
our scene;
Here where Opportunity is
King,
And the Goddess Liberty is
Queen,
None could ask for better
cause to sing!
Knowledge is our strength
along the way,
Schools and libraries galore
are free.
Go to any church you choose
to pray,
In your home have full
security.
Vote in freedom, bank in any
bank.
It’s your sacred duty and
your right,
Now for all these blessings,
let’s all thank
God, and swear to guard
them with our might.
Attends Seminar
Wahab Edwards, mill comp
troller, attended a three day sem
inar at the Biltmore Hotel in New
York the second week in October.
This seminar was conducted by
the American Economic Founda
tion which was founded in 1939
and whose program has been to
translate the economic facts of life
into simple arithmetic and one-
meaning words and then to pack
age them for use in employee edu
cational programs. By such trans
lation the foundation has demon
strated that there is little wrong
with America’s industrial relations
that facts, presented intelligently,
cannot cure.
Mr. Edwards has been conduct
ing a training course for the super
visors at Caromount at at series
of luncheon meetings in the Caro
mount Field House. These lec
