Page Four Mrs. Florence Bedgood, a na tive of Nash County, is the daugh ter of Jim B. and Martha Jane Womble, She attended school in Nashville. In 1920 she married T. S. Bedgood of Nash County and came to Rocky Mount in 1942. Mrs. Bedgood began her em ployment at Caromount in March, 1943, in the Mending Department where she has completed more than 10 years service. She is rec ognized as a very eflBcient mender and is highly respected and ad mired by the employees of the Mending Department. In her quiet and pleasant man ner and deep concern for others, Mrs. Bedgood once assisted in nursing a sick person. As a re sult of this she became interested in nursing and offered her services on a part time basis at the local hospitals during the war when Registered Nurses were very scarce. Her interest in nursing led her to do some correspondence work and study in this field. These earnest efforts qualified her to be listed on the Practical Nurses Registry and she remains on this registry when time per mits her to perform nursing duties. Mrs. Bedgood has been most cooperative in maintaining the First Aid room at Caromount when the regular nurse is away on vacation or for some other reason. The Bedgood family lives at 116 Atlantic Avenue and attend the Pentecostal Holiness church. They have one daughter, Barbara Jean, who is a senior at Rocky Mount High school. Mrs. Bed- good is particularly fond of flow ers and making quilts and bed spreads, but with her present work in the Mending Department and her nursing duties she has been unable to keep up with these interests.
