In Blue Ridge Mountains Charlie and Bettie Luper and their children spent several days in the Blue Ridge Mountains dur ing their vacation. Vacation At Ahoskie Mrs. Mary Kermon spent her. Vacation week in Ahoskie with relatives. ' Visits In Virginia Mrs. Pearl Green visited her brother in Suffolk, her sister in Norfolk and also Virginia Beach while she was away on vacation. Week With Sister Miss Marie Dew spent her va cation with her sister in Fuquay Springs. Tour Mountains Mrs. Janie Eason spent three days during the week of the fourth in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She reports a wonderful, scenic hip. In Virginia J. D. “Pap” Edwards spent four days of his vacation in Leaksville, Virginia and then went to Ocean View on Sunday. Trip To Florida Bobby Sffith spent three days ^n Jacksonville, Florida with his brother during vacation week. Enroute home he went to Myrtle Eeach, S. C. also. Vacation With Relatives Mrs. Loula Solman spent three days of July the fourth week with relatives at Atlantic Beach and Vanceboro, N. C. State Convention Moses Hughes went to a Church ^f God of Prophecy state con- '"ention in High Point during his Vacation. At Virginia Beach Mrs. Ruby Evans and family ®pent a few days at Virginia Eeach during their vacation. Fishing At Morehead Robert Fox took his family to Vlorehead City fishing for several days during vacation week. Two Weeks With Relatives James Modlin and family spent ^ Week with Mr. and Mrs. T. Eryant in Bristol, Tennesse and ^ Week with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bosley in Florence, S. C. Also during this vacation they visited Myrtle Beach, S. C. In Virginia Arden and Carolyn Brooks ®Pent a couple of days during yacation at Virginia Beach and Richmond. In Mountains Bertis Morgan vacationed in ^be Blue Ridge Mountains during ^be Week of July 4. Dyehouse Employees Get Big Catch Johnnie Cockrell, left, and Cecil Smith, both of the Dyehouse, are shown with 11 rock fish which they caught in the Roanoke River recently. These fish were caught on a rod and reel using worm bait. Mending Reports Trip To Louisiana Mrs. Minnie Inscoe and her family spent two recent weeks in Louisiana visiting Mrs. Inscoe’s parents and other relatives. They had a very nice trip but were glad to get home. Trip To Great Smokies Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wor rell went to the Great Smoky Mountains, Cherokee Reservation and many other interesting places in western North Carolina. They visited Chimney Rock, Clingman’s Dome and saw lots of big bears and snakes. They report a won derful trip. Fishing At Morehead Mrs. Blanche Brantley and members of her family went to Morehead during vacation week. They did lots of fishing and had very good luck — in fact, they gave all their neighbors a mess of fish. At Morehead Mrs. Elizabeth Joyner and fam ily spent part of their vacation at Morehead where the children en joyed being in the water and Mr. and Mrs. Joyner enjoyed the rest and the sea breeze. Tonsilectomy Mrs. Emma Skinner had her son’s tonsils removed recently. He is doing nicely. Paints Home Robert Griffin used his vaca tion week to paint his home, in side and out. At Carolina Beach Mrs. Retha Kermon and her family spent their vacation at Carolina Beach—they report a wonderful time. New Freezer Mrs. Elsie Joyner has a new deep freezer and spent most of her vacation preparing meats and vegetables to go in it. Her daugh ters were at Cherokee when the bridge collapsed, killing several people and injuring many others. Trip To Alabama Mrs. Florence Radford and her family went to Alabama during their vacation visiting relatives. They had an enjoyable trip and visited many friends and relatives enroute. Mrs. Lynda Bell Bone spent her vacation filling her deep freezer with corn, peas and but ter beans. She also helped barn green tobacco. At Pamlico Mrs. Esther Riley and family spent their vacation at Pamlico. Moves Residence Mrs. Geraldine Batts, daughter of Mrs. Tellie Coley and a form er employee, has moved to New York City where Mr. Batts is stationed with the Army. Miss P’rances Coley, another daughter of Mrs. Tellie Coley, is spending sometime with her sister in New York helping her to get settled in her new home. Sympathy Note We regret to report the death of little Ricky Lane Dew, grand son of Mrs. Geneva Hull and Dallas Hull. Ricky was eighteen months old and died July 15. Funeral services were held in Tarboro on July 17. Weaveshed News Furlough At Home Alton Raper, stationed at Kings ville, Texas, spent his furlough with his father, E. 1. Raper, re cently. Returns To Work Mrs. Margaret Cockrell has re turned to work after undergoing minor surgery. Visit With Sons Herman and Juanita Rose and Clarice Cawthorne went to San Antonio, Texas, to visit their sons during vacation week. Both sons are stationed there in the Air F orcp Visits Father Mrs. Ruby Campbell visited her father in Detroit, Michigan, dur ing vacation. Trip To New York Mrs. Ruth Cooper recently vis ited relatives in New York and Massachusetts. Beach Vacation Vacation for Mrs. Myrtle Branch and her husband was spent at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Vacation In Mountains Mrs. Nannie Haddle picked a cool spot for her vacation—right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visits Mother-In-Law Mrs. Christine Peele recently visited her mother-in-law in Ken- ly, N. C. Fishing Trip Mrs. Clyde Jones went to Min- nesott fishing during part of her vacation. Visit To Virginia Mrs Essie Sheppard recently visited relatives in Richmond, Va. At Whichard’s Beach Mrs. Eula Brantley spent sev eral days of her vacation at Whichard’s Beach, near Washing ton, N. C. In Waynesboro, Va. Clifton and Mildred Ezzelle motored to Waynesboro, Va., and Atlantic Beach for several days during July fourth week. Vacation At Pamlico Mrs. Margaret Pittman spent most of her vacation week at Pamlico Beach. With Friends In Maryland Miss Myrtle Winstead spent a very enjoyable vacation week with friends in Maryland. News From Finishing With Friends In Ohio Mrs. Evelyn Joyner and her family visited friends and rela tives in Ohio during the week of July fourth. Visit With Sister Mrs. Nannie Weaver visited her sister in Raleigh during her vacation week. At Home Mrs. Ruth Haskins and Miss Ertie Edwards spent their vaca tions resting at home.
