IREDELL CITIZEN
Just after sunrise on Saturday
mornings at the Thoroughbred
Training Center in Davie County,
horses neigh anticipating their
breakfast. Soon a cloud of dust,
created by a succession of horse
trailers rolling in for the show,
rises from the gravel drive lead
ing to the McCashins. Early
arrivals get the best spots closest
to the water for horses and the
Porta-potty for the riders.
John and Beth McCashin, owners
of Thoroughbred Training Center
(TTC), and their children, Sean
and Mary, begin their Saturday
morning like always with plenty
of chores to do. The McCashin’s
have hosted over 500 horse shows
since 1981 at their 137-acre facil
ity. Horse lovers from near and
far are familiar with TTC.
