Maggie Shoobridge/CmZEN Kim Haro from the cmlobi’s oewneir of the Iredell County Public Library accepts a stack of beaks an adoption from Samuel Fair, which he collected at his birth day party. Also shown are his parents Reverend Leo and Dr. Lisa Fair and siblings Anna, and Andrew. IREDELL CITIZEN When Samuel asms questions about where he ami his siblings came from, his parents answer him on his level, which at this point is a seven-year-old understanding. “As far as Samuel knows, you get a baby by getting on a plane and going to Texas.” Or Lisa Fair said. That's where we went to adopt him, his brother Andrew and now his little sister Anna.” Reverend Leo Fair said. November is national adoption month and Samuel celebrated by donating his birthday presents to the children's department of the Iredell County Public Library. The presents were books about adop tion. which Samuel’s friends brought to his party, at his request, so other children can leam about adoption. Dr. Fair is an QB-GYN and one might think adoption is an unusual option for a doctor who delivers babies nearly every day of her life, but when talking to the Fair's it makes perfect sense. "We learned early on in our mar riage that we would either need to go the in vitro fertilization or adoption route. " Lisa said. "We decided we could spend all our time, money and energy on in vitro and maybe aid up with a baby, or adopt a child that needed a home and be sure of having a baby. We chose adoption.
