It is the official call for the annual communication of the Grand Lodge. Grand Master Leslie H. Garner will open this 190th annual commu nication shortly after ten Tuesday morning, April 19, and from that point until the final rap of the gavel Wednesday after ¬ THE ONE HUNDRED NINETIETH ANNUAL COMMUNICATION OF THE GRAND LODGE OF noon more than 1,000 Masons will hear about and read about Masonry in this state—past, present and future. As noted above, the official call is mailed only to the lodges and to other voting Grand Lodge members. Any other Master Mason in good standing, though, is welcome to attend the sessions and the facsimile at right gives all information necessary for those wishing to attend as observers. As a matter of further information, the sessions beginning at ten and at two on Tuesday will be taken up primarily with (Continued on Page Two) ANCIENT, FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS OF Disregard Solicitations Several lodges have received copies of a letter from the West Milford Building Fund (Masonic and Community Services Building), West Milford, N. J., which requests that it be read during meetings, and which requests that the hat be passed among the membership for contributions. This letter should NOT be read in North Carolina lodges. It should be consigned to file thirteen. Grand Secretary Robert P. Dudley has been in touch with the Grand Secretary of New Jersey and has been informed that the Grand Lodge of New Jersey does not permit letters of solicitation and has taken steps to halt further distribution of this particular letter. (REG. 95-11. Subordinate lodges shall not entertain begging or soliciting circulars or letters from lodges of another grand jurisdiction without the approval of the Grand Master attested by the Grand Secretary under the seal of this Grand Lodge.) The letter herein referred to does not come from a lodge, although Masons are obviously deeply involved, and it addresses the secretary of the "Square/Craftmen's Club,” while the envelope itself is addressed by name and number to the North Carolina lodge receiving it.
