D. 1981, A. L. 5981 Then and Now Raleigh—The Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina commenced its ninety-fifth Annual Communication, at the Masonic Hall, in the City of Raleigh, on Tuesday evening, December 6th, A.L. 5881, A.D. 1881, and was opened in ample form at 7Vz o'clock, it appearing that a constitutional number of lodges was represented. The foregoing paragraph was lifted verbatim from the Annual Proceedings of the Grand Lodge for 1881. That annual communication one century ago was opened by Grand Master Henry F. Grainger, and additional sessions were held on December 7 and 8. (Continued on Page Two) Attest: BEGINNING AT TEN O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING IN CONVENTION CENTER ROYAL VILLA MOTOR INN HIGHWAY 70 WEST Grand Secretary Grand Master NOTE: All business sessions of the Grand Lodge will be held in the CONVENTION CENTER, Royal Villa Motor Inn, Raleigh. The sessions will be held as follows: 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M., April 21, 1981; and 9:00 A.M., April 22, 1981. Grand Lodge Open House Raleigh—All regular Masons, their families and friends, are invited to visit the Grand Lodge building during both days of the annual communication. Hostesses will be on duty from 9 till 5 on Tuesday, April 21, and from 9 till 1 on Wednesday, April 22, to show visitors around and to serve light refreshments. The Grand Lodge building is on Glenwood Avenue and is easy to reach from the Royal Villa Convention Center, where the annual communication is being held. Leaving the Royal Villa parking lot, turn right (east) on U. S. 70 and you are on Glenwood Avenue. Turning neither to the right nor to the left, proceed past Crabtree Valley Shopping Center, under an overpass, and begin looking for Glen Eden Drive—on your right. The Grand Lodge building is on the corner of Glen Eden and Glenwood, on your right, and there is a large Masonic sign in front, near the street. Drive in. Stay awhile. Infirm visitors can use the ground level entrance Jat the far end of the building (lower parking lot) and take the elevator to the main floor. The elevator will accommodate a wheel chair.
