“IT CAN BE DONE.” Somebody said that it couldn’t be done, Bue he, with a chuckle, replied That maybe it couldn’t, but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckeled right in, with the trace of a grin On his face; if he worried he hid it, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done—and he did it. —Gilliland. --o— “Read your daily Bible readings; Study well your lesson, too; Take your part upon the program; There’s not a thing that we can’t do!*’ —Adapted. o Stir the Union to work for 100 per cent on all points of the Standard. Help to make your Union an A-l Union. “WE STUDY THAT WE MAY SERVE.” -n THE BIBLE. This book contains the mind of God, the state of sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its histories are true, its precepts are binding and its decisions are im mutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to sup port you and comfort to cheer you. It is the Traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s character. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory and a river of pleasure. -o B. Y. P. U. B. Y. P. If the Church to which you belong were to be measured by you and all members were as you are, would your Church be an effic ient Church? We should go to Church to devote ourselves to the worship of God. We should live in an Evangelistic atmosphere. Our EDUCATIONAL IDEAL should ever be to learn more about Jesus and to help others know Him better. We should gather together as brothers and sisters, and shake hands as if it were a pleasure and not a cross. What brings about a warmer feeling of fel lowship than our mingling together in a social way? The love feasts are not to be neglected. When we have devoted ourselves to true spiritual worship, having caught the evangel istic spirit, having been enlightened in the knowledge of the Word of God, then are we able to sympathize as brothers and reach out in a social way to share each others burdens. Only when this has come to pass can we show the real Missionary spirit. Not until this Mission ary spirit has saturated us can we sacrifice of our life and say, “here am I Lord send me,” “here is my silver and my gold. Not a mite will I with hold.” n Lazy people are not the ones who make the greatest mistakes. It’s the fellow who is going somewhere in dead earnest who must watch his step. --o Many favors which God giveth us ravel out for want of hemming; for though prayer pur chaseth blessings, giving praise doth keep the quiet possession of them.—Puller. -o I haven’t got to make over the universe; I’ve only got to do my own small job, and to look up often at the trees and the hills and the sky and be friendly with all men. -o The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness temperance; against such there is no law.—Gal 5:22, 23. 10
