During the Revival meeting held at Fairfield a free-will offering was taken to help Miss Vera Williams, who has been sick for quite awhile. The amount raised was $8.02. We hope and trust this will help her out in this time of need. * * * Rev. A. S. Lockee preached for 10 days in a meeting at Fairfield at night and at North Lake Church in the daytime. We had a splendid meet ing. It was well attended. There was scarcely a night service that there was not from one or more, to several carloads, from Swanquarter, Rose Bay, Engelhard and Middletown. They came in two-horse wagon loads. Rev. A. S. Lockee took well with all who heard him. lie preaches the truth in a single and fascinating way. He is an Indian wholly converted to the Lord. There were four accessions for baptism. Several other conversions. We welcome him back in our midst. We be lieve the entire community is better by his hav ing come into our midst. B. Y. P, U. Convention. The eastern section of the State B. Y. P. U. was held at Greenville, N. C., April 1, 2, 3. Three from the Fairfield Union attended. Rev. E. R. Stewart, Clay Linwood Williams and Harold Daniels. AH came back inspired to undertake greater things. Some twelve or more counties of eastern N. C. were represented. Rally Meeting. Over 200 Baptist leaders of the Chowan Asso ciation met at Edenton April 6 to attend a re gional conference of nine or ten counties;' Dr; Charles E. Maddy, state secretary, and Dr. A. J. Barton of Nashville, Tenn., were the leading speakers. This was an inspirational meeting to all who attended. A. B. Y. P. U. Rally will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at Elizabeth City on Saturday, May 28th. ^ The next Scuppernong Fifth Sunday Union meeting will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, May 28th and 29th. A large delegation from the Baptist Churches of Hyde should go. Near Mackey’s. ^
