The cl STOCKS FALL BACK Market Gives Further Expression the Many Conflicting Factor Noted Recently. to - New York, Nov. 1. The stock mar ket today gave further expression to the many conflicting factors which have engaged the earnest attention of financial and industrial interests since the signing of the armistice. ., Prices were firm to 'strong at the beginning, rails, shippings, fjuipments and oils, together with such special tie sas motors and tobacco, holding their -gain of 1 to 3 points through out the forenoon. Late the entire list fell hack, the re versal coinciding with repoxte from Washington that the war industries board had been empowered to cancel war contracts in excess of comparative ly nominal amounts. There was much discussion in stoc'I market circles as to the adoability of removing restrictions n ban.t leans, but the arguments advanced in that Quarters received litc.e encouragement fom financial institutions. The reaction was at its height in the last l.'i.r, when oils anri industrials nt: onjy forfeited all gains, out v5 way vo net losses, of 1 tc 4 points. Motors also yielded easily with kind red specialties. S. S. Steel gave promise at the out set of regaining a substantial part of its recent loss, advancing 14 points, but relinquished all its advantage and closed at a slight fractional loss. Advances of 1 to 2 points in rails, with Southern Pacific the leading fea ture were also soon forfeited, while coppers labored under the handicap of adverse earnings and shippings lost ground oh further postponement of ttie Mercantile Marine deals Liberty bonds eased slightly, domestic railway and industrial issues yielded 1 to 1 per cent and internationals were irregular. Total sales, par value, aggregated $11, 775,000. Old U. S. bonds were unchang ed on call. NEW YORK STOCK LIST. American Beet Sugar American Can American Car and Faundry.. An Inside Bath Makes You Look and Feel Fresh Says a Glass of Hot Water With Phosphate Before Breakfast Keeps Illness Away. Physicians the world over recom mend the inside bath, claiming this is of vastly more importance than out side cleanliness, because the , skin pores do not absorb impurities into the blood, causing ill health, while the pores in the ten yards of bowels do. Men and women are urged to drink each morning, before breakfast, a glass of hot water wtih a teaspoonful of limestone phosphate in it, as a harm less means of helping to wash from the stomach, liver, kidneys and bowels the previous day's Indigestible mate rial, poisons, sour bile and toxins; thus cleansing, sweetening and purifying the entire alimentary canal before put ting more food into the stomach. Those who wake up with bad breath, coated tongue, nasty taste or have a dull, aching head, sallow complexion, acid stomach pothers who are subject to bilious attacks or constipation, should obtain a quarter pound of lime stone phosphate at the drug store. This will cost very little, but is sufficient to demonstrate the value of inside bath ing. adv. SHINGLES! SHINGLES! SHINGLES! CYPRESS AND JUNIPER Also slate surfaced as phalt shingles.
