More than one hundred books have
been added to the library this y <r
These books v ere selected .as parallel
readies: material for the courses'
in English. The new reading room
and stoek room have been opened and
steps built leading to the main floor j
of the high school building. The ree- j
ords show that the pupils are renting j
more than ever before. Donations of j
books or rnonev will be welcomed by j
the school in order that the library
may increase its usefulness.
The community club had its regu- j
lar meeting Friday afternoon and |
had as its special guest Mrs. Ray- J
mond Binford of Guilford college.
Mrs. Binford made & very interesting j
talk to the group on the work of the j
Farent-Teachcr Association of the
state and nation. After the business
session refreshments were served by
the hostesses, Mrs. J. J. Mast. Mrs.

made possible by friends of Mary Mildred
Sullivan, who during her life
tirre was always a promoter of education
in the mountain sections of
tiie South. Since her death her son.
George H. Sullivan of New York, and
her friends have continued to aid
many of the educational institutions
in which she was interested. Mrs.
Sullivan's memory is cherished at.
I.ees-Mcttae college through the Sullivan
Society which upholds and honors
lier as an example of very fine
womanhood. The active interest of
her son and friends, in education is
indicated by the Mary Mild reel Sullivan
scholarships established at L,eesMcRae

forum, which is a further evidence of
their interest, will be held twice a
