Baton School Being Opened Word has jm*t been received that Linda W«y, bead majorette at Appalachian High School will again offer baton initractlon this summer. Kiss Wey started her baton career in Miami, Florida, where she took two years instructions from Bill Allen, the national baton twirling champion. While in Miami Miss Wey was a member of the Kinlock Park High School and the West Miami High School corps, and performed In the Orange Bowl On returning to Boone two years ago Mist Wey was elected head majorette at Appalachian High School and since that time has taught the majorette at the local high school and planned their formations. Daring the last summer Miss Wey gave instructions to beginners and intermediates. This year instructions will be given to beginners, intermediate and advanced twlrlers. Instruction will be given in basic twirls as well as trick twirls.
