AND MRS. MARTIN BANNER Miss Doris Ann Vance, daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. C. O. Vance of Asheville, was married Sunday, August 25, to Mr. Martin Banner, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Banner of Boone, in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The bride's father and pastor of the Church, Rev. C. O. Vance, assisted by her uncle, Rev. H. D. Vance of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, officiated using the double ring ceremony. The program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. George Cole, Jr. of Asheville, organist and Mr. Glenn Miller of Boone, vocalist. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white chantilly lace over candlelight satin fashioned with a high Queen Anne collar. The French Illusion yoke was ovt]ine0 with irridescent sequins and seed pearls and the long tightly fitted sleeves ended in eella points over the hands. The full skirt, ending in • chapel train, was attached to a fitted bodice. She wore a fingertip veil attached to a cap of seed pearls and aequins. She carried a bouquet of tube roses centered with a corsage of white orchids. Mrs. Derrell Wilson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress of taffeta of Copen Blue with • soft cowl neckline. The empire waistline camc to points over a bouffant skirt, and the folds of taffeta formed the back of the neckline and were released into flowing hemline panels. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ralph Williams of Boone and Miss Louise Ross of Spruce Pine. They wore dresses of the same style as the matmn of honor In Dubarry Coral. The honor attendants carried bouquets of pink carnations. Missei Daphne and Angela Martin of Asheville were the flower girls. They carried baskets of pink rose petals. Mr. Ben Mast of Chapel H|ll served as the bridegroom's best man. Ushers were Mr. Darrel Wilson of Winston-Salem and Mr. Clarence Martin of Asheville. After fhe ceremony the couple ju-ee/f^^thfty- guests on the lawn at thp home of the bride where the reception was being held In their honor. The bride is a graduate of Gardner Webb Junior College and Appalachian State Teachers College. The bridegroom served two years in the U. 8. Army and is now a student at Appalachian State Teacheri College. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home in Boone. Local Affairs Mr. and Mrs. J. E.
