Facility Dames
Meeting Held
The December meeting of the
Faculty Dames was held at the
Plemmons' home which had been
attractively decorated with Christ
mas materials.
For the program of the evening,
Mr. Hoyf Safrit led a group of
college students in singing carols
and anthems of the Christmas sea
son taken from the English,
French and Germans. Among these
were "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes,"
"My Sheep are Grazing," "Lo How
a Rose," "Angels We Have Heard
on High," "Lullaby, Thou Little
Tiny Child," "Praise the Lord His
Glory Show," "Good King Wednes
laus," and "Deck the Hall."
During the social hour Christmas
gifts were exdhanged among the
members. Hostesses for the even
ing were Mrs. John Barden. chair
man, assisted by Mesdames David
Hodgin, John Justice, Jotm Van
Noptn and Cratis Williams.

Garden Club
Mrs. Jack Norris was hostess to
the members of the Appalachian
Garden Club at her home on
Queen Street Wednesday evening,
December 14th.
The occasion was the club's
Christmas party. The home was
beautifully decorated for the sea
son, using a color scheme of greell
and gold in the living-dining room

Following the meal, a brief
business session was conducted by

The piano students of Mrs. J. E.

friends with Christmas music Fri
day afternoon, December 16th, in

Each student played a number
of carols and Christmas songs, in
viting the group to sing as they
played.
Prizes were awarded to Martha
Stacy for winning the flash card
contest, and to Robert Melton and
Helen Robinson for displaying
skill in performing.
