R. N. Carroll, pastor of the Baptist Church, predch the . baccalaureate sermon in the school auditorium Sun-i day night. Mr. Carroll used as his text Rev. 8:8, “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength and ; hast kept my word, and hast not ; denied my name.” , At the outset Mr. Carroll con- j gratulated members of the class upon THB CHOWAN HERALD, EDENTON, N. The door of moral achievement, the door to character, the door to a great cause and the open door of a great Christ.” He stressed the need for men and women of character and integrity, saying, “Reputation is something which is made, but character grows.
