Insurance Dividends j
Paid To Veterans *
A few World War veterans eligible «
for dividends on their Government '
Life Insurance already have received jj
checks it is announced by Stephen H. «
Alford, District Officer of the North <
Carolina Veterans Commission. j
Mr. Alford warned, however, that i
World War I veterans are not eligible j
for the dividends unless they have re
tained their insurance since they were
in the service. Very few of the older j
group have kept up their payments. }
It is not necessary for World War (
I men to apply for their dividends, he 1
said. The Veterans Administration 1
has the records, and the checks will i
be sent to them automatically.
Meanwhile dividend checks for
World War II veterans holding Nat
ional Service Life Insurance still are
being awaited. Mailing of the checks
was scheduled to begin January 16,
and the last check will probably be
mailed about three months later.
