I THE SEMOR NEWSLETTER ™ —i j By HAZEL LEAST I ' ■ ( Johp Ward Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Ward. During his many years here in school, John has been very interested in the extra curricular activities. Os course he has been interested in his school work too, and as a result of that he was a mar shall last year. To get bade to his extra-curricular activities though, we’ll mention such ones as the Monogram*: Club, the Student Council, the Dra- i matic Club, the annual operettas, base- i ball and the band. His interests out side school include movies, sports and 1 music. Listening to popular, some 1 classical, and martial music is his s favorite pasttime. John is of the Student Council and it really 1 keeps him busy. If he ever has any spare time, he always reads. John’s | future plans are to take a general course at B. C. C. Also, we’d better not forget to mention that his interest in the opposite sex is centered around , v one girl and that is none other than , Mildred Small. In closing this brief biography about John, I’d like to say, and I’m speak ing for the whole class, that we miss John and hope that it won’t be too •long now’before he can join us again. Good luck, John, and hurry and get well. The next biography is that of “yours truly.” 'Let’s see what our secretary, Cynthia Ambrose has to say about my uninteresting past. In 1962, December 31 wasn’t just the last day of another year, but it was the day of the birth of a sweet and pretty little girl, Hazel Leary, who was bom right here in Eden ton. As time passed on Hazel started to school here and now twelve years hence she is about to graduate from the same school. 'Se has'always been a pleasant and popular girl at school I and during her four years of high school she has participated in the following activities: IF. H. A., Beta Club, Marshall, annual staff, Spot light Staff, Senior Editor. Her main interests outside school are movies, reading, bicycle riding, swimming, eating dancing and sewing. PHONE 198 Hello Friends: The Seniors really have a busy soc- 1 ial schedule in store for them now that school is so near the end. We have many parties planned. This j week Mr. and Mrs. N. J. George and Mrs. Evelyn Jade- , son are giving the Seniors a party Tuesday night. , Come Thursday night and we will be journeying out , to Mrs. S. F. Small’s home to dine. Next week is exam week. The only bright spot in next week is the big semi-formal dance which is being given by an in terested citizen in honor of the Senior Classes of Cho wan High School and Edenton High Schools. And now to stop thinking of the fun to come and get down to the business of our weeftly biographies. The first biography this week is that of John Ward, son of most other people, has a hobby. Herr’s is collecting snapshots end historical novels. Hazel has a part-time job as book keeper at Smith’s Machine Shop. When, asked about her future plans, she said she hasn’t definitely decided, but thinks she would like to go in training for a nurse next fall. Also on this day every 25th person who registers may have a free chest X-ray. This is only another evidence of the fine service which the hospital ren ders to this community, county and vicinity. Your County Hospital should at all times have your cooperation and good will. The regular meeting of .the Hospital Auxiliary will be held at-the Nurses’ Home on Wednesday, May! 16, at three o’clock. A special feature has been prepared for the meeting of the Hospital Auxili ary and all members are urged to at tend.
