SECTION ONE— Colerain Wins Baseball Series (Continued From Page One) Colerain 7, Rocky Hock 6 Colerain won the first game of the series Friday night on Hicks Field by a score of 7 to 6. Colerain took an early lead by scoring three runs in the second inning and added two more runs in each of the fifth and seventh. Rocky Hock trailed the entire game, scoring one run in the second, two in the sixth and threatened to forge ahead in the seventh when three runs were scored. Edgar Rae White started on the mound for Rocky Hock but gave way to Jesse Riddick in the seventh. * Per ry started for Colerain, but he, too, weakened in the seventh and was re lieved by Phelps. Colerain touched White and Riddick for 12 hits, while Rocky Hock made eight hits. Score by innings: R H E Colerain 030 020 200—7 12 6 Rocky Hock —OIO 002 300—6 8 4 Rocky Hock 4, Colerain 3 Rocky Hock evened the count on Hicks Field Saturday night by defeat ing Colerain 4 to 3. Monk Raines was on the mound for Rocky Hock and went the entire route, holding Cole rain to five hits. Salton Farless pitched for Colerain and also gave up only five hits. Rocky Hock went into the lead in the second inning when Larry Lowe doubled. Collins walked and both scampered home when Buddy Long tripled. Colerain went in the lead in the fourth when all three of their runs were scored. Baker singled and went to second on a balk. Farless fanned and then Bond hit a slow grounder to Raines which he could not field in time to catch Baker at home. White then fanned, after which Macaluso tripled, scoring Bond. B. Farless was safe on an error on which Macaluso scored. In the sixth Rocky Hock scored two runs to take the lead. Elbert Bunch doubled and went to third on a pass ed ball. Tommy Reeves walked and stole second. Ray Jordan then hit to third and Bunch was caught at home plate. Monk Raines singled, scoring Reeves. Jordan was caught napping at second, after which Collins walked. Long was safe on an error on which Raines raced home with the winning run.
