I will not be eligible to draw my social security retirement benefit until March of 1959. Will my benefit be more than .it would have been under the old law? 1 A—Yes, benefit amounts for all 1 beneficiaries, those getting pay ments now and those who will be getting them later on, will be about 7 per cent more than they woiild have been under the old law. 8. Will social security benefits be increased next January for dis abled persons? A—Yes, the increase will go to those who are getting retirement, survivors and disability benefits. Cross, Mrs. Hayes Carter -and Mrs. Robert Perry entertained at a tea Sat urday afternoon, October 11, from 4 until 6 o’clock in the home of Mrs. Horace Carter. The Legion building was dec orated with magnolia leaves, ivy and lighted candles in silver hold ers. Mrs. Hayes Carter welcomed the guests at the door. The re ceiving line was composed of Mrs. Hertel Hofler, Mrs. Carter, Miss Donnie Ward and Mrs. W. T. Cross. The serving table was laid with a white linen cloth graced with candles in silver candelabra. Mrs. Maebelle P.' Winslow presided at the punch bowl, assisted by Mrs. Robert Perry. Mrs. Edward Eure was in charge of the guest registering table which was covered with a white cui,work cloth centered with an arrangement of white gladioli and carnations. Miss Rita Rae Ward rendered ' soft piano music during the af ternoon. The guest of honor was pre sented a corsage of white carna tions and a gift of silver. Mrs. Major Ward said the good byes.
