' ' I • SUNDAY SCHOOL l-ESSON Continued from Page Four We must note that Jesus’ first step was in answering the anxi ous among his listeners; the lil ies of the field are beautiful for what they are; the grass is of worth because of what it is. The value of one’s life comes from what God has given us within ourselves, and not from what our anxious strivings and endeavor puts upon our bodies. Jesus, in short, brought to the attention of all that heard him the fact that God knows we have these simple needs, and that he will adequately bless our efforts to provide them. Our humdn anxieties will disappear when we are resolute about put ing God first in our lives, our desires, our purposes. God, in the center of our efforts, en ables us to work with dignity. He provides our basic physical needs; how we grow in wealth toward him essentially rests with us. In closing this lesson, it might be well for us to reflect a mo ment on our past. How many disappointments and setbacks have we had, each one, individ ually, that seemed to shatter our plans for our future, irrevocably? How many times did something, someone, come along to “save the day”? Perhaps if we look closely enough, we will see the fine hand of a loving Father at THE CHOWJft MEEALR flggg| tOfrffl jgjgggfc THWHftAt, APRIL 30, 1964. work, | snd, from the knowledge that He u looking after us, gain g little more insight towards our religion, and our place here on earth.
