Miss Irene Elliott of Hertford was maid of hon or. Bridesmaids were Miss Elaine Nixon of Hertford, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Harold Byrum of Hertford. Miss Paula Gibbs of Hampton, Va., was junior bridesmaid. Mr. Byrum was his son’s best man. J. W. Byrum, Jr., of Winfall, Harold Byrum and Michael Byrum of Hert ford, brothers of the bride groom, and J. V. Godwin of Hertford were ushers. Mrs. J. W. Byrum, Jr., and Mrs. Edward A. Sand ers, sister of the bride, were co-mistresses of cere mony. The mother of the bride chose an autumn rose em broidered knit dress, har monizing 'accessories, and wore a white orchid cor sage. The bridegroom's mother wore a knit dress of peacock blue, matching accessories and also a white orchid corsage. A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church immediately fol lowing the ceremony. After a wedding trip to the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina they are making their home in Windsor. The bride attended Campbell College and is a November candidate for graduation from East Caro lina University. The bridegroom attended Chowan College and grad uated from Durham Insti tute of Barbering. Pre-Nuptial Parties The bride was entertain ed at the home of Miss Deanie Boone Haskett by Miss Irene Elliott in Greenville. The after-re hearsal party was given by Mrs. Edward A. Sanders and Mrs. J. W. Byrum, Jr., at the home of the bride’s parents. Couple United In Home Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ray Thomas of Edenton j announce the marriage of their daughter, Donna Rae, , to Joseph Charles Daven port, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clyde Davenport of , Creswell. The wedding took place Saturday at 4 P. M. at the home of the bride’s parents. Rev. Russell Rice per formed the ceremony. The newlyweds will make their home in Cres well. Rountree The marriage of Miss Susan Barrow Skiles to Ronald Lafayette Rountree was solemnized Saturday morning at 10 o’clock in Edenton Methodist Church with Rev. E. L. Earnhardt officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Kathleen B. Skiles and John S. Skiles of Eliza beth City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hallett L. Rountree. Mrs. E. Taylor Brown, organist, and Miss Jacque lin Mooney, vocalist, pro vided the wedding music. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, John T. Skiles. She wore a gown of white satin trimmed with Alencon lace, fashioned with short sleeves and a scooped neckline. The train also featured lace ap liques. Her veil of silk illusion fell in full layered tiers from a white satin bow. She carried a bou quet of white French car nations trimmed with bak ers fern which surrounded a white orchid lift-out. The honor attendants were Jacquelin Mooney of Raleigh and Martha Leary of Edenton. Terry L. Wheeler of Edenton served as best man. Groomsmen were Howard A. Collins and Clyde S. Adams, both of Edenton. The mother of the bride wore a three-piece suit in Choral Society Holds Meetings Albemarle Choral Society is now holding regular weekly sessions at the Par ish House of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The group meets at 7:45 P. M. on Mondays. There were 2 lat the first rehearsal of the new year and Dr. Clifford Bair, di rector, was much encourag ed by this turnout. Choral Society member ship is open to people of high school age and over who like to sing. Robert Marshall Boutwell of Ft Benning, Ga., is an nounced by her parents, 1 Lt. CoL (Ret.) and Mrs. Charles Robert Livingston. The k prospective bride groom B the son of Lt. Col. (Ret.) and Mrs. Theodore Boutwell of Okinawa and the grandson of Mrs. J. L. Pettus of Edenton. The wedding is planned for October 5 at 7 P. M. The bride-elect was grad uated from Havelock High School and attended Queens College in Charlotte, where she was a member of Al pha Gamma Delta Sorority and active in the National Student Association, Rus sian and Drama Clubs. Her fiance was also grad uated from Havelock High School and attended the University of North Caro lina at Chapel Hill He is currently serving as an in structor in the Ranger De partment at Ft, Benning. Cooperative Plans Meeting The 1968 annual meeting of the members of the Al bemarle Electric Member ship Corporation will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Per quimans County High School in Hertford. In addition to reports of officers and manager, three directors will be elected — one from Camden County, one from Perquimans County and one from Cho wan County. The following nomina tions have been made: Camden County, W. E. Meiggs and Charles H. Walston; Perquimans Coun ty, Floyd Mathews and J. M. Fleetwood, Jr.; Chowan County, Joseph A. Byrum and Lloyd E.
