Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bunch of Charleston, S. C., spent the weekend with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Bunch, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Alex White and children, Anna and Catherine, of Greenville spent Saturday with Mrs. J. Frank White, Sr., on West Eden Street. Mrs. Minnie Rogerson of Edenton and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Chambers of Ports mouth, Va., were among the WCMS tourists that spent the weekend touring Nashville, Term. They at tended the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night. They also visited the Hall of Fame and many of the Opry stars’ homes. On their way home they toured Gallingburg, Tenn., and the Great Smoky Mountains. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Whitt have returned from vacationing at Palaski, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Habit and family spent the week end at Nags Head. S/Sgt. and Mrs. Earl Parks and family are spending some time with Mrs. Helen Parks. Sgt. Parks leaves for Vietnam on August 15th. C. 482-3*98 Raulston-Throud Vows Exchanged In a ceremony performed in the Edenton Baptist Church Saturday evening, Miss Mary Gardner Thornd became the bride of Lewis Arthur Raulston, Jr., of Greensboro. Rev. R. N. Carroll officiated. Nuptial music was pre sented by Miss Agnes Chappell, organist. The bride is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moore Thorud, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. Raulston, Sr., of Greensboro and the late Willie Burt Fuller Raulston of Wake Forest. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an empire gown of French silk damask fashioned with a wide collar embroidered in crystals, rhinestones and pearls. Her long veil of silk illusion was attached to a Juliet cap of seed pearls. She carried a bou quet of white roses and stephonotis. Miss Ginny Jo Truslow of Lumberton, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a blue linen sheath with matching overdress of chiffon with a full cut back ending in a train. Her headpiece was a double bow accented with a matching lace flower. She carried an 18th century nosegay. Bridesmaids were Mrs. James Truman Whitmire of Hendersonville, Mrs. Clar ence Alvin York of Rich mond, Va., Miss Nancy Joyce Forehand of Green ville, Miss Ellen Fore hand Jackson of Plymouth and Miss Mary Frances McGuire of Greensboro. Their gowns and flowers were identical to that of the honor attendant. Mr. Raulston was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Harold Conger, 111 of Eden ton, Thomas Walker Dean of Winston - Salem, Jesse Barnard Hall, Jr., of Rich mond, Va., Charles Brayton Heath of Greensboro, Pet er Marsh Wachter of Greenville and William Alexander Wood, 111, of Burlington. Mrs. Thorud, mother of the bride, wore a gown of aquamarine worsted silk with a heweled neckline. She carried a glamaellia. Mrs. Raulston, stepmoth er of the 'bridegroom, wore a gown of pink chiffon with matching accessories. Her flowers were cymbi dium orchids. Mrs. Thomas C. Cross was mistress of ceremony. Wesley M. Chesson, Jr., was vestibule usher. The bride’s parents en tertained at a reception at the .Chowan Golf & Coun try Club. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. After a trip to Williams burg, Va., the couple will make their home in Pitts boro, where Mr. Raulston is an industrial engineer with Kayser-Roth Corpora ion. She was presented at the Terpsichorean Club Ball in 1965. Mr. Raulston is a gradu ate of Guilford College and has served four years in the United States Navy. On Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. J. Clarence Leary, Sr., gave a dinner party for the bridal couple and members of the wed ding party. On Friday, Mrs. Nick J. George and Miss Suzanne George entertained the bridesmaids and out-of town guests at a luncheon at their home on Virginia Road. The rehearsal dinner, on Friday evening, was given by Mr. and Mrs. Raulston, Sr., at the Edenton Res taurant. Dr. and Mrs. Richard H. Hardin entertained the wedding party and guests at an after-rehearsal party.
