C. j Li*t Btikr' Jni -vj J > . jA mi GUILD HOLDS SEMI-ANNUAL MEETlNG—Members of Albemarle Craftsmen’s Guild met in Edenton recently to elect new officers and honor some boosters with life-memberships. The picture at left shows the new officers elected. Left to right are: Mrs. W. L. Forbes of Shawboro, treasurer; Mrs. Maurice Sawyer of Shawboro, secretary; Clarence T. Sanders of Elizabeth City, vice president, and Mrs. H. T. Memorial Resolution For W. E. Bond Upon motion of C. A. Phil lips, seconded by C. M. Ev ans, and unanimously carried, the Board of Commissioners of Chowan County, in meet ing duly assembled on March 25, 1970, do resolve as fol lows: Resolved that the Board of Commissioners upon being in formed of the death of our Chairman, Honorable William E. Bond, on Friday, March 20, 1970, do express our deep distress and sorrow upon his passing after valiantly trying to overcome a long and cri tical illness. We wish to re cord sincerest regret and sympathy on the occasion of his death after so many years of service, both as a member of the Board of Com missioners and as Chairman. William E. Bond was first appointed to the Board on April 7, 1952 and served as a member until August, 1958, THE CHOWAN HERALD, EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 197* when he became Chairman of the Beard and continued to serve as Chairman from that date until the time of his death. During his term as Chairman he also acted as Chief Administrator of Cho wan County and actively worked each day for many hours to advance the affairs and business of Chowan County. He kept up an ac tive interest and correspond ence with all State Agencies which had any part in ad ministering the affairs of tho County. His administration of Chair man was marked by many forward looking improve ments within Chowan County • including the building of the John A. Holmes High School, ; the construction of the new i Chowan Hospital, the obtain i ing of several new industries , within the County and the general improvement of busi ness within the community. We do hereby recoid the fact that William E. Others are Miss Audrey Tuttle of Elizabeth City, retiring president, left, and Mrs. Elizabeth Sanderlin of Currituck, retired heme agent, who presented the awards. Chowan County and who knew the business of the County better than anyone else in the community. We do further resolve that we wish to extend to Mrs. William E. Bond and the children of the family our heartfelt and sincere sym pathy and good wishes and to say that all of us will sin cerely miss his guidance of the affairs of the Board of. County Commissioners. We further resolve that this Resolution be incorporat ed in the minutes of this meeting and that copies of the same be sent to members of the family.
