Letters Directed To The Editor On October 14 all grades at Chowan Academy went on a tour of the new Chowan Hos pital. This was a treat for all students and teachers but especially special for the the younger children. When the -hospital is in operation children under 12 will not be permitted to visit. We were so impressed that busy people such as Mr. Tom Surratt, administrator; Mr. Bruce White, management en gineer; Mr- Jim Blount, phar macist; Mrs. Barbara Cale, director of nurses; Mrs. Kaye Bunch, secretary, and Mrs. Marina Crummey, office man ager, took the time to guide our groups through .the hos pital, explaining everything and answering ‘ our many questions. We enjoyed the entire trip which took us to all parts of the building from maternity ward to morgue. The oper ating rooms, the emergency roc-n and the amazing instru ments of the intensive care THE CHOWAN HERALD, EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, THURSDAY, OCTOBER tt, l»W Thursday Tuna salad, po tato sticks, green beans, peach upside down cake, rolls, milk. Several articles of interest were the electric beds (we even got to try them), anes thesia machines, the heart 1 and pulse recorder and -the large X-ray machines. Each room has a telephone a TV and an intercom to talk with the nurses’ station. The kit chen and cafeteria were beautiful. We thought the new hos pital was .wopderful. It will ; improve the health care of Cnowan County, Edenton and the entire area. If we should become ill, we will receive treatment that is better than any hospital in Eastern North { Carolina. We enjoyed our trip very much. It waA very educa tional and we feel that we are very fortunate to have such a fine hospital with such modern facilities. Thanks to Mr. Surratt and his staff. —The Eighth Graders of Chowan Academy. i | FREE 1250 S & H Green Stamps! I Given Away Daily-5-250 Stamp Prizes! [nothing TO BUY - JUST COME IN AND REGISTER.
