The Herald Society News Six members of Edenton Tea Party Chapter, DAR, at tended the district 8 annual meeting in Halifax Wednes day. They were: Mrs. George Mack,: Mrs. John Bond, Mrs. , Wood Privott, Mrs. B. G. Willis, Mrs. Mary Coffield , and Mrs. J. D. Elliott, regent. V Chris Elliott°and"Bill Ches son attended the N. C. S. U. football game Saturday in Raleigh. They also visited Earl Chesson at U. N. C. Mis. Helen Parks, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Evans and Tony spent the weekend in Welaka, Fla., visiting Mr. and Mrs. Billy Griffin. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Vestcr spent last weekend visiting their parents in Elm City. Mr. and Mrs. Heywood Zieg ler, Jr.,< have returned home after vacationing last week in the mountains of North Caro lina. Mrs. Kathleen Skiles spent this past week visiting her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Skiles, in Jupiter, Fla. Roland Vaughan, Jr., of Wilson spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Ruth Vaughan. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Roun tree and son Chris of Chesa peake, Va., spent the week end In Edenton visiting rela tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Harmon and family spent the weekend at Morganton attending a Blue Grass festival. Mrs. Vivian Mooney has re turned to her home in Ra leigh after spending some time with W. J. Mrs. Darby Takes Post With Edenton Library Shepard -Prudcn Memorial Library recently obtained a new librarian, Mrs. Louise W. Darby of Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Darby moved to Eden ton in August. She is the wife of Thomas E. Darby and they have seven children, five sons and two daughters. Two of their sons are liVing in Edenton, Dana Duncan Darby, seven, and Bruce Andrew Darby, 21, who is a student at Kent State University. Mrs. Darby was" born in Marietta, Ohio, and she slat ed that her father was a con struction worker. Because of this, she was able to travel a lot.
