Page 8-A Wildlife Chosen As Project By BILL MANSFIELD Wildlife is, creatures that are neither human nor domesticated; mammals, birds, and fish are classified as wildlife. I chose wildlife as a project because I enjoy the outdoors and the animals within. This project teaches many different aspects in the field of wildlife; such as: the Ten Commandments of gun safety, who to keep records of different birds, how to cast tracks, and jives some ideas you would not think of. When I go hunting, 1 look for different animal homes. 1 took a course in taxidermy which is the art of preserving animals, small and large; also heads, novelties, rugs and tanning hides. Last year I had the pleasure of attending the National Resources Conference in Waynesville. In that week we studied the conservation of our SWINE SHOW HELD The. American Legion sponsored a Swine Show at the fair this year. The grand champion individual was shown by Ivey Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. I. Ward of Ryland. The reserve champion individual •vas shown by Michael Perry, .on of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Perry, Route 3, Edenton.
