F y • While Chowan County's credit will be pledged toward repayment of the loan, engineering estimates are that no tax levy would ever be required because of the water system. • The proposed water system has widespread support from county organizations including: Chowan County Commissioners, Edenton Town Council, Chowan County Planning Board, Edenton Chamber of Commerce taenton-Chowan Board of Education, Edenton Jcycees and numerous other civic and service organizations! • There are many mutual benefits to both town and county including inter-connection of systems in time of need. • Opening of additional industrial sites to provide more jobs. • Better fire protection in the county. • Grants available only to county-wide systems. . • Guarantees pure water at a steady pressure even when electrical service is interrupted.
