Each participant was given a card indicating his or her blood pressure and those with a high reading were requested to contact their family physician. The sponsors included: Chowan Heart Association, Edenton-Chowan Rescue Squad, Chowan Hospitals The Chowan Herald, WCDJ, EIC Headstart, the Family Planning program of AHRDS, EdentoiA Jaycees and CIBA Pharmaceutical Company.
