M. The event is sponsored by College of the Albemarle and its physical education de partment as part of the Lyceum Series. Tickets can be obtained at the door. Danish Gym Team To Perform In E. City The internationally known Danish Gym Team will return to Elizabeth City Saturday for one: performance at the Elizabeth City Junior High School gym at 7:30 P.M. Composed of 15 girls and 15 boys witl; four adult leaders, the teaib is currently on its one year tour of North America. Team members were selected froth the many skillful gymnasts in Denmark. Most of _ them are in their early 20’s. Some are students and others represent a number of different careers. They have .all tafea timfc off without salary of ally kind and their common interest is their dedication to physical education. The majority of the program is accompanied by music, classic and modern. The folk dances are performed to old Danish folk tunes. Danish gymnastics have been shown nearly all over the world. Denmark advocates physical education and seeks continual ly to improve ell forms. Per fect style counts more than acrobatic stunts and all exercises must have a clear purpose and wholesome effect on the participating person. The team represented Denmark at the World’s Fair in Seattle and a similar tour ended with two highly acclaimed performances at the World’s Fair in New York. The team previously made a successful tour around the world, performing in Canada, U.S.A., including Hawaii, Fiji, Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong. Thailand, India, Pakistan and Israel. Revival Services Revival services start at First Christian"" Church Sunday I September 29 at 7 o'clock and | run through October 6 Sunday I night service. Rev. Preston E. | Cayton will be the speaker for the services. Homecoming will be October 6 after morning I service. THE CHOWAN HERALD Judge Fentress Homer Hears Varied Docket Here Twenty-seven criminal cases were called and one divorce granted Tuesday morning in Chowan County District Court. Judge Fentress Horner of Elizabeth City presided with 11 of his Judgments being appealed to Superior Court. Probable cause was found in the case where Virginia Lee Moore was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She allegedly shot her husband, who is a patient in Norfolk General Hospital. Deputy. Sheriff Glenn Perry, investigating officer, testified that the defendent admitted to him that she shot the victim with a .32 caliber pistol which was taken from her at Chowan Hospital. She was given 60 days, suspended upon payment of SIOO fine and costs for carrying a concealed weapon. She gave notice of appeal. Patricia M. Arnold received a divorce from James F. Arnold. Asst. Sol. Keith Teagus was assisted in prosecuting the docket by John R. Parker, a Murfreesboro native who has recently joined the district solicitor's staff. Judge Horner took the following action in other cases called Robert Linwood Holley, failure to comply with support payments, prayer for judgment continued upon payment of SIOO per month. Vocal Mask Coarse Offered Edenfon Citizens By CO A Douglas Sawyer, assistant director of College of the Albemarle's Continuing Education Department, announced today that a course in vocal music will be offered in Edenton, which began Monday. Individuals who are interested in attending are requested to meet at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish House at 7 P.M. The course will be taught by Mrs. Shelby Strothers. Mrs. Strothers has an extensive background in music, according to Sawyer.
