A delicious supper was served by the club members. After the meal, Mrs. Hollowell announced several up-coming events. Mrs. Gladys White, home extension agent, was present and gave a very interesting talk on “Stress”. We were told that all of us have stress at one time or another, and we must learn to cope with the strains of every day living. In away stress can be your best friend and also your worst enemy. Each person has to find away to manage stress and to control the overload of stress. We discussed true and false answers to questions on stress. The group was dismissed by Mrs. Hollowell. i education teachers across the state. In a report published by the state education agency, an estimated $11,651,745 will be allocated to the 145 local education agencies during the 1977-78 school year. The initial allotment assigned to each local unit the bulk of its operating funds for the year. The mid year revision adjusted funding to fit revised numbers of students to be taught, actual numbers and salary ratings of teachers employed and current year rates of cost for such items as car operations, in surance, instructional materials, and equipment. The driver education program in North Carolina is completely financed by the $3.00 motor vehicle registration fee. The State Board of Education approved these mid-year revisions of driver education budgets for fiscal year 1977-78 at its January meeting. The Edenton- Chowan School system received an initial allocation of $32,445.00 on July 7, 1977 and will be alloted $1,597.00 for a total amount of $34,042.00 for the remainder of 1977-78.
