Miss Altice Speaks Murphy Lions Club -Miss Mildred Altice. caseworker ior the blind in five Southwestern counties, with headquarters in Murphy, was the guest speaker at fclurphy Lions club meeting Tues day evening in the Methodist church. She told of how the Blind Commission, with the cooperation <?f Lions clubs, assists the blind and near-blind in adjusting themselves lor useful, happy living, often furnishing vocational rehbilitation in order for a person to earn his living. Miss Altice was presented by Dr. ^ A. Hoover, chairman of the blind committee of the club, who also announced that on Monday and Tuesday an eye clinic was held at which 95 people received exami nations. He also presented Dr. W m. Powell of Asheville as a spec ial guest. Andy Patton of Franklin was a guest of his brother. Mack Patton; Kenneth Farmer, guest of Dale Lee, who commended Farmer for Ihe work he has done with the Boy I Scouts in Murphy: and Bill Wohlt. I guest of .1 B.
