Sports Review By PORTER GRIGGS * * * ? BASEBALL Sow that the baseball season is all set to begin fans are beginning lo wonder what kind of teams Cherokee county is going to have this year. Murphy nign Bulldogs is look ing like a team that will be hard to beat in scrimage sessions. Bren cili and B. Lovingood are espical ly looking good on the mound; hughes and Brandon in the field and Bill Clark looks like the Babe Ruth Of the outfit. Marble was the first Cherokee county team to see action down ing the Murphy Colored nine 6 to | 4 last Sunday. M. Anderson, and Hughes looked good on the j mound; R. Coffey was impressive in the field and G. Parker was the leading hitter. Marble should be j the surprise of the Smoky Moun | tain league with a full house of last year's men returning. Murphy Mountaineers haven't started practice yet but Manager | David King said he expected to field a young fast ball club. 1 Manager Luke Ellis nasn't sent I in one word about the Andrews nine but maybe he will before the season gets underway.
