Service The congregation of St. William's Catholic Parish will celebrate Palm Sunday at their chapel Sun day, March 25. The Rev. Jack Morrison of Cin cinnati, Ohio, will be the guest speaker. The weekly 8 a. m. ser vices will (>egin with the tradition al palm Sunday procession. ' , ^ ' Miss Broadus Is Bride Of Hensley The marriage of Miss Eva Louise Broadus, daughter of Mrs. Louise Broadus and the late James Jack son Broadus of South Park Road, Santa Rosa, Texas and 2/Lt. Wil liam Hensley of Murphy, son of Edwin Hensley of Oak Ridge, Tenn. and Mrs. John Stillman of Knoxville, Tenn. took place at 3 p. m. March 4, 1956 in the base chapel, Harlingen Air Force Base. The double ring ceremony was performed by Chaplain Clyde C. Wilton. ? ? The bride wore a ballerina length pale pink taffeta dress with white accessories. She carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations. Miss Edith Broadus of Santft Rosa, Texas, sister of the bride served as maid of honor. She wore a blue ballerina length taffeta dress with pink accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. Lt. Z. T. Fortescue of the base, 1 served as best man. Mrs. Hensley is a graduate of Edinburg High School. Lt Hensley a graduate of Mur phy High School is a grandson of Mrs. Vesta Nelson Hensley of Murphy with whom he Jias made his home. He is also a grandson of Mrs. Leila Dickey of Murphy. Lt. Hensley entered the Air Force in May 1954, completed bas ic training at Harlingen Air Force Base, Texas, then entered Avia tion Cadet program in Dec. 1954, completed training March 2, 1956 and was commissioned 2/Lt with the rating of Aircraft Observor. He will be stationed at James Con nolly Air Force Base Waco, Texas for four months receiving advanc ed training In Radar Intercept. Following the ceremony, the couple left on a wedding trip for a tour of Southern states and West ern North Carolina. For traveling, the bride wore an Avocado green linen box suit, with white accessories and her bridal coinage. Mr. and Mrs. Hensley will reside at Waco Texas. Jehovah's Witnesses Set Lord's Meal Local Jehovah'* witnesses will celebrate the Lord's Evening; Meal Monday Mfrch 26, at 7:30 p. m. with a memorial supper at the Kingdom Hall above Mauney Drug ?tore. Congregation Supervisor Henry Lyons explained that the Memor ial Supper is observed each year by Jehovah's witnesses in keep ing with Christ's commandments. "To Jehovah's witnesses," said Mr. Lyons, "partaking of the Memorial Supper symbolizes will ingness to follow faithfully Christ's course of action on earth." Mr. Lyons will deliver a dis course in which he will explain the significance of the Memorial. The speaker will emphasize the respon sibilities assumed by those par taking and will outline the require ments placed upon the partaking ones. The public is invited to hear this address. The service wiH be conducted by a song and prayer. In this service Murphy Jeho vah's witnesses will be joining oth er congregations throughout the world. He explained that Witnes ses are engaged in Bible Educa tion work in 158 different coun tries and that all will observe the Memorial Supper after 6 p. m. on this day. St. Barnabas Church, Murphy. Miss Thompson Weds Ray Allen In Marietta Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thompson* announce the marriage of their daughter, Ida Jean Thompson to Ray A. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A Allen of Atlanta. The marriage took place Satur day, March 3 at 2 p. m., in the First Baptist Church of Marietta. Ga. The Rev. Griffin Henderson performed the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of And rews High School, class of 1949 Formerly employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company in Mur phy, she i^ now with Lockheed Air craft, Photographic Department, Marietta, Ga. The groom is a graduate of Tech High School In Atlanta. He served in World War II, Pacific Camp aign and is at present employed by Lockheed Aircraft Corporaton. Attending the ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Wadsworth, Miss Ruth Thompson, J. E. Coker, and John C. Thompson. Shortly after the wedding the couple left for a trip to Chattanooga. They will make their home in Marietta Georgia. ?first Doses Of Salk Administered The Cherokee County Health De partment announced that due to the shortage of Salk vaccine, which is state-wide in the health departments, only the first doses of vaccine are being given in order to secure as wide a degree of pro tection as possible. To Speak At Federation Meet Govonor Luther Hodges will be the principal speaker at the ann ual meeting of all Farmers Feder ation Stockholders to be held on March 24th In the Buncomb Coun ty Courthouse in Asheville beginn ing at 10 a. m., it has been annou nced by James , G. K. McClure Federation President. In addition to the Govener's ad dress the stockholders will hear reports from each of the Farmers Federation Department Managers *nd will vote on the county direct ors nominated at each of the reg ional meetings held in February and March.
