The theme for this year’s carnival was "A Circus in ; Hawaii." The scene was centered around an evening in Hawaii. The program consisted of a play entitled ‘‘The Sad Clown" followed by a variety of dances from grades lc-7. Special entertainment was provided by Mrs. Gloria Cananizoda of Pembroke State University’s Physical Education Department, the Spanish Dancers from Pembroke Senior High. A special feature also included eleven Hula girls doing a special Hawaiian dance. Mr. John N. Sampson, principal, crowned the Deep Branch King and Queen, Timmy Oxendine and Querida Wairiax) at the beginning of the Carnival. Funeral services were held for Bobbie Jean on Sunday, June 5, at Prospect United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Rev, Harvey Lowry was officiating minister. The Family BOBBIE JEAN THOMPSON Bobbie Jean Thompson was born to this life July 17. 1974. She passed from this world Thursday night. June 2. 1977. INDIAN VOICE 521-2626 Dana L, Emanuel, son of Mrs. Joyce E. Cummings of Pembroke and Norman J. Emanuel of Baltimore, Maryland, has been named Most Valuable Player in Football and was awarded the Athlete of the Year at graduation ceremonies at Camden Military Academy. Dana was a student at Camden four years where he earned the rank of First Lieutenant. He was active in various activities with emphasis in most sports.
