A significant por tion of these forces is rep- | resented by the Army Na- I tional Guard (ARNG). In fact, REFORGER S3 will involve a notable increase in ARNG personnel. A total of almost 2,750 Guard person nel will be participating. , , ?g?, ??iii t n ii This total includes 23 units and unit cells official ly troop-listed for the exer cise and an additional 21 units and cells being funded by the National Guard bu reau. It also includes 200 ARNG personnel who will be training with the 1st Cav alry Division and 35 person nel training with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment The 1st Battalion, 198th Armor, from the 155th Armor Brigade,. Mississippi ARNG, is the largest Guard unit to be deployed to RKPORORR S3. Comprised of approximately 450 per sonnel, the battalion will be conducting a three week annual training period at the exercise.
