Installation Service for Rev, Leroy Bijah Davis,
pastor, Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 404 Dowd
St., will be held Sunday, November 21 at 6 p.m.
Dr. C R. Hamilton, pastor, Tabernacle Baptist
Church, Augusta, Ga., will conduct the service.
Rev. Qavis was nominated pastor of the church
l. in September'and assumed the pastorate on October
1 , succeeding retiring minister, Reverend Alexander
D. Moseley. Mosdey had held the pastorate since
1962.
Rev. Davis is a native of Augusta, Ga. and receiv
ed his B. A. degree from Paine College; and his
Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School
of Religion. He has done post graduate studies at
Trinity Theological Seminary, Newburgh, Ind.
Rev. Davis served as Pastor of Solid Rock Baptist
Church, Laurinburg, prior to coming to Mt.
Gilead.
He is married to Merrit Bostic and they are the
parents of two children, Michael LeRoi and Dawn.
. Other participants will be Rev. Jackson C.
Trueitt, Deacons Levi Mitchell and Larry Bowens
and Trustee Lewis Owens. Music will be rendered
by the Mt. Gilead Special Chorus under the direc
tion of Mrs. Jeanne H. Lucas, Ms. Kathy McLeod
and Mrs. Nellie Smith.

Memorial Services
The Goldenaires gospel singing group of Durham
will celebrate its Anniversary at the Durham Civic
:Center, Sunday, November 21 at 3 p.m. A special
memorial service for Doss Massenburg, who had
been with the-group for 17 years before his death
last year in a construction accident, wwll be held. '
- According to Mrs. Margaree Massenburg, the
singer's widow, the memorial service is planned as
an annual affair, and is dedicated to her husband's
devotion to the group specifically and gospel music
as a whole.
Appearing on the program will be: James Hern
don and his Singers; Popular Springs Gospel
Singers of Greenville; Sensational Angels; Yancey '
Family of Oxford; Soul Lifters of Greensboro;
