C: Packard's dispatch yesterday to Senator Blaine, that in every parish outside ot .New Ur leans, except what he terms the five bulldozed parishes, his government is recognized by all except a few Nicholl's officials is utter ly untrue. The people of this parish and surrounding parishes spurn Pack ard's preteusions, and render hearty allegiance to Gov. Nicholls. Th Re publican police jury of this parish has by formal resolution recognized the Nicholl's government. Heavy Gale in New York Tele graphic Communications Retard ed. New York, March 9. The heavy gale of this morning, seriously inter feres with telegraphic communication east of this city, as well as in other directions. Services were celebrated this morn ing at the ehurch of St Francis Xavia, where the disaster occurred last night and a large audience was in attendance. The Ave and Pater were offered for the injured. A heavy southeasterly gale and storm prevailed last night, and con tinues. The gale is strong in the bay and navigation is slow.
