Monroe Enquirer and Express: Ty phoid fever has raged with unusual virulence in portions of Lane's Creek township throughout the summer. There have been a number of deaths and several cases are not yet convales cent. Mrs Rache Dees, wife of Mr W E Dees, of Lane's Creek township, died suddenly on last Saturday night, it is supposed with an attack of appoplexy. She was about 3i years of age, and leaves a husband and five children to mourn her death. She was an excellent Christian woman. Mr Patrick Horn, who lives near Polkton, in Anson county, died sudden ly on Monday morning. He rode to his held early in the morning, and the horse coming back without him, search was made and he was found dead where he had fallen from bis horse. It is sup posed that he had heart disease. He was a brother of Dr J A Horn, of this county. Goldsboro Messenger: On last Mon day morning Dr M E Robinson's negro man, Rufi3, while feeding the doctor's horses was attracted by peculiar cries behind the stables, and on investigation he found a negro baby a few hours old, enclosed in a tow sack and lying in a ditch ; there was not sufficient water in the ditch to cover the child completely, otherwise it would never have escaped the horrible death intended for it by the brutal mother that gave it birth. The police were soon informed of the outrage, and in a short time officer Swaringen had detected the mother, but when he entered the yard she gave chase and took shelter in a friend's house in Webbviile; when the officer reached the place she was in too critical a condition to be removed, consequently no disposition has as yet been made of the case. Fayetteville Examiner: On Thurs day last the lightning struck a gum tree on the plantation of Mr James P Robertson, and passing down the tree to within ten feet of the ground left the trunk of the tree and passed down some fence rails leaning against it, and killed eleven nogs lying in a bed close by. The electric fluid left very little trace on the tree or rails. Would Pay Ten Dollars per Bottle for it.v Brunswick county. Va., Nov. 5, 1881. I have been entirely cured of a most fearful looking and painful sore on my ankle, by the use of H s. Joe PersonV valuable Remedy. It came more man twelve mourns ago, very much like a ring worm. I painted it witu tine. Iodine. It be came a very painiul and bad looking place, then 1 commenced to try everything I could think or hear of, until it became so very painful that I could scarcely walk. Then I went to the best doc tor in the whole country for advice, Who told me ne coiua cure rpe it i woma tane to my bed and there remain for four or Ave weeks, and If I did not do thi pretty soon it could not be cured at all; the bone would become diseased, and my foot would have to be taken off. Imagine how I felt to be told that I would have to lose my root, or to give up all business? Either of the remedies would have ruined me. Mind you. this was the advlca of one ot the best doctors in the State of North Carolina, and this conversation took place hist February. I continued to-burn. as he advised, with caustic until September, but found no bene fit at all from his treatment. I was then advised by my friends to try Mrs. Joe Person's Remedy. I ordered ha'f pints from her, and took .'the first d se on the 17tb of September, using the Wash also, and now I am a well man, the sore la entire ly cured, and 1 can walk as tar, dance as much and Jump as high as any man. Put me back to the first of September, let me know as much as I now do of the merits of Remedy, and I would not hesitate to pay ten dollars per bottle for it if I could not get it for any less. I think more ot it than Bny medicine 1 ever heard of. It is not only the best remedv In the world to Dunry the blood. but I believe It will cure all skin and blood dis eases, and it will certainly cure a love of strong drink. It gives me pleasura to furnish this lor publication, ag I know there are many sufferers who would be cured, ciuld they know of and ob tain Mrs. Joe Person's Remedy. V ry truly and respectfully, JOS. I would say that the sales have beu very fair, and o far as I can learn the Remedy has been very satisfactory to my customers who have used It, especially so In the case of a little girl of this el'y, ten years of ase, who was troubled for a long iime with sores breaking out over the f ica and neck having the appearance of Scrofula, and which had resisted the usual alterative treaunent for a long time. She took four bottles of the Bitters Iat sprmg, when the sores entirely disappeared, and up to this time she has had no return of them, her skin looking as fair and clear as any one's. It is not generally known that the nervous sys tem has a wonderful Influence over the skin, but this is a fact known to medical men who have given much of their time to the study of diseases of the skin. No one can have a clear and fair complexion unmixed wi.h blotches or pimples who Is very nervous. Whatever tends to a healthful condition of the nervous system always beauUfles the complexion and removes roughness and dryness of the skin. Some skin dtoeasess are not attended by visible signs on the surface, but an intolerable Itching that renders life miserable. We copy the following deserving and Interesting compliment fiom the Tribune, which says: "Dr. C W. Benson's New Remedy, 'Skin Cube,' is re ceived by the public with great confidence, and it Is regarded as a very generous act on the Doctors part to make known and prepare for general use his valuable and favorite prescription for the treatment of skin diseases, after having devoted almost his entire life to the study and treatment of nervous and skin di-eases, in which he took great delight. Ee was for a number of years Physician to charge of the Mary'and Infirmary on Dermatology and an thing from his hands is at once accepted as authority and valuable. The remedy is fully the article to attack the disease, both Internally, through the blood, and externally through the absorbents, and is the only reliable and rational mode of treatment. These prepanu tlons are only put up for general use after haviDg been uspd by the Doctor in his private practice for years, with the greatest success, and 'they fully merit the confidence of all classes of sufferers from skin diseases."
